Community pharmacists have administered more than three quarters of a million flu jabs during this season’s flu season, according to the latest figures.

Around 754, 571 vaccines have been administered in total. The figure comes from PharmOutcomes and Sonar Informatics data, although the total number of vaccinations administered will be even higher as some pharmacy teams are not using the electronic systems to record administration of vaccines.

Alastair Buxton, PSNC director of NHS services said: “This is another great milestone for the community pharmacy flu vaccination service.

“Pharmacy teams have continued to work hard over the last three months to build on the success of last year’s national flu vaccination service and this is clear to see in the number of vaccinations that have been delivered.

“Well done to all pharmacy contractors, pharmacy teams, LPCs and others for helping community pharmacy reach this milestone. This is a great achievement and I am looking forward to seeing this number continue to grow over the next four months.”
