Holland & Barrett announce partnership with Phlo to provide weight management support

Health and wellness retailer Holland & Barrett has announced a new partnership with online pharmacy Phlo to provide clinically-led weight management support.

The partnership will see Phlo’s clinical weight management services signposted across Holland & Barrett stores and online to offer customers additional support alongside its nutrition and wellness range.

The company said that as a General Pharmaceutical Council-registered pharmacy Phlo operates qualified clinical teams and will be responsible for providing all clinical services as part of the partnership, including patient assessment and ensuring patient care and safety.

It added that the service is powered by Phlo Connect, Phlo's application programming interface-driven (API-driven) digital infrastructure platform, which is used to deliver clinical assessment, prescribing, dispensing and ongoing patient support.

Holland & Barrett said it had found that among people who bought health and wellness products from it in the past 12 months, one-in-four (26%) reported experiencing challenges with their weight over the same period.

Leila Thabet, director of wellness platform at Holland & Barrett, said: ‘We know that weight management is deeply personal and that the right support can look different for everyone.

‘This partnership with Phlo allows us to broaden the offer available within our stores and online, while staying true to what we do best - supporting customers with trusted wellness expertise.’

Adam Hunter, chief executive at Phlo, added: ‘Weight management is one of the most important health conversations happening in the UK, and people deserve access to support that is safe, clinically led, and built around their lifestyles.

The partnership announcement follows the launch of Holland & Barrett’s ‘Back Your Body’ campaign, which aims to help people better understand their bodies and build sustainable, lifelong habits.
