Accord Healthcare has issued a recall at pharmacy and wholesaler level for a batch of ipratropium bromide 500 microgram/2ml nebuliser solution over a labelling error.
The recall affects batch number UK25B06 with an expiry date of 31 March 2028, containing 20 ampoules per pack and first distributed on 4 July 2025.
According to the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), a foil pouch was found to contain ampoules bearing Korean language labels with different batch details than those indicated on the outer packaging.
However, the company has confirmed that the mislabelled ampoules contain the same product and active ingredient as intended for the UK market.
Healthcare professionals have been instructed to stop supplying the affected batch immediately and quarantine all remaining stock for return to suppliers through approved channels.
Patients who have concerns have been advised to contact their dispensing pharmacist. Anyone who may have already used the mislabelled ampoules can be reassured that they have received the correct medication despite the labelling discrepancy.
