Pharmacy service provider Healthera has announced a partnership with courier service Uber Direct that will enable door-to-door delivery of medication to client pharmacies’ patients.

Healthera provides pharmacy businesses with a website and/or app for customer interaction, and the partnership will see Uber Direct delivering prescription and recommended over-the-counter items to patients following online video consultations.

Deliveries will be made to patients ‘often within an hour of placing their order’, said Healthera, and the service will also provide tracking of orders ‘in real time as they’re delivered’.

More than 1,600 pharmacies use Healthera across the UK, and the company said the partnership with Uber Direct will provide coverage across 330 towns and cities.

‘Healthera wants to provide the practical solutions that will help local pharmacies provide the best possible service to their community,’ said Quintus Liu, chief executive and founder of Healthera.

Caroline Varga, head of Uber Direct UK&I, said the partnership would make vital health products and medicines ‘more accessible’ for people across the country.

‘It’s a collaboration that will help pharmacies to better support customers and patients in their local area and grow as a business,’ she added.
