The future of GP pharmacy – sign up for the last few places at our free event

A panel of experts will come together to discuss the ‘future of GP pharmacy’ at a new and exclusive event being held online next week.

The discussion will be one of many sessions on the agenda at the free GP Pharmacy Virtual: Core Updates event, which is being hosted in partnership with The Pharmacist online on Tuesday 24 June 2025.

The expert panel for ‘Future of GP Pharmacy: where do we need to be and how do we get there’ includes:

  • Yousaf Ahmad, integrated care system chief pharmacist and director of medicines optimisation, NHS Frimley
  • Zafran Azam, head of pharmacy - implementation and place (Derby City & Swad), NHS Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board / Joined Up Care Derbyshire
  • Dr Graham Stretch, president, Primary Care Pharmacy Association (PCPA)
  • Yinka Kuye, head of pharmacy primary care transformation medicines optimisation, Frimley Health and Care Integrated Care System
  • Vishal Mashru, head of medicines and research Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland ICB clinical lead – medicines optimisation, Cross Counties Primary Care Network.

Chaired by president of the PCPA, Dr Graham Stretch, the GP Pharmacy Virtual: Core Updates event will provide updates on key areas for practice and PCN pharmacists in the UK, including:

  • Tackling polypharmacy and overprescribing in multimorbid patients
  • How to carve out a successful career as a clinical pharmacist working in general practice
  • The latest on obesity and weight-loss management: What GP pharmacists must know
  • Future of GP Pharmacy: Where do we need to be and how do we get there?
  • Take away key updates on medicines optimisation, prevention, chronic disease and careers advice
