As a pharmacist do you really want to be talking to your customers about sexual issues?
Although this is probably not the most comfortable conversation you will have with them, at first, what it will do is bring you closer to them and ultimately help sales.
When you start to converse about their lives, you will see how much they will open up about other concerns, which they would not necessarily discuss with their doctor or even friends.
Many pharmacists tell me that talking with customers can be time consuming when you are already so busy, but statistically you are 70 per cent more likely to sell to an existing customer than to someone new and seven in 10 are more likely to spend with those who they feel are giving excellent customer service.
So it is definitely worth taking the time.
Being a pharmacist can be a very altruistic job, but ultimately sales are vital for a successful business.
